Charitable Giving

Supporting Our Church’s Charity Partners

This year, our church Giving Team and PCC are launching a new approach to charitable giving. Rather than spreading our support across many causes, we have chosen to partner more intentionally with 4 charities over the coming years. Alongside the many organisations we already continue to support – including Christian Aid, The Children’s Society, the British Legion, Don’t Walk Past, Styal Prison, Partington Food Bank and the Community Shed – we want these four charities to become part of our church family through prayer, financial support and practical involvement, as we build relationships with them.

We have set aside £2,500 for charitable giving, with £500 allocated to each charity and a further £500 held as a contingency fund for emergency appeals. Our hope is to support these charities for a few years, reviewing the partnerships annually.

Please join us in praying for these charities, learning more about their work and looking for opportunities to support them throughout the year.

Barnabus

Barnabus has spent more than 30 years serving people experiencing homelessness in Manchester. Alongside providing food, clothing and healthcare, they help people rebuild their lives through housing, rehabilitation and pastoral support. Their Christian work continues to bring spiritual hope and transformation to many. www.barnabus.org

Trafford Youth for Christ

Trafford Youth for Christ serves as a Christian presence in local secondary schools, supporting youth workers, Christian Unions and RE teaching. Their mission is to share the hope of Christ with young people across Trafford, and we are grateful for the close links our church already has with their ministry. https://trafford.yfc.co.uk

Pure Insight

Pure Insight supports young people leaving the care system across five local authorities. Through trained volunteer mentors, they help care leavers find accommodation, education, employment and emotional support, ensuring that vulnerable young adults have someone to walk alongside them during a crucial stage of life. www.pure-insight.org.uk

Tree Aid

Tree Aid works across Africa, planting trees that restore land, improve soil and water management, and helping communities build sustainable livelihoods. This is part of our commitment as a Silver Award winning Eco-Church. We hope also to encourage practical involvement, such as sponsoring trees. www.treeaid.org
