St Mary's Guild

St Mary’s Guild was started more than 70 years ago by women who wanted to contribute to the welfare of their church in Bowdon. Members work by rota on Friday mornings, with duties during the week. Altar flowers are provided and arranged each week and everyone shares in decorating for Festivals.

Other tasks include the care of fair linen, silver and brass, and changing the altar frontals and curtains according to the season of the Church’s year.

Corporate Communions and Guild meetings are held twice a year and members are encouraged to be regular communicants. Each member has a copy of the Guild prayer and we say it together at the beginning of each meeting.
