Looking at the world with new eyes

In early December the Altrincham Interfaith Group in conjunction with Ross Maskell Opticians in Regent Road, Altrincham, invited St Mary’s with St Luke’s to fill a shoe box with old spectacles for Vision Aid Overseas.

The shoe box they provided had been decorated at the Group’s National Interfaith Week Event for children of all faiths held at the South Manchester Synagogue in Bowdon on Sunday 20 November.

The lenses will be reground by Vision Aid Overseas to provide spectacles for needy people in the third world.

Thanks to St Mary’s parishioners who donated their old spectacles forty people will be able to see that world a little better in 2012.
