Hilary Gartside takes over as Editor from Catherine Cleghorn

When Katharine Perera died in the autumn of 2016 Catherine Cleghorn kindly agreed to become the Editor of the Bowdon Church News. She has proved to be a very worthy successor to Katharine, maintaining the exceptionally high standard of the BCN which is widely read and so much appreciated by the local community. She has done this demanding job at the same time, amongst many other things, as her ordinand training, and we are deeply indebted to her. The time has now come for Catherine to hand over to someone else as she will be ordained deacon at Chester Cathedral on Sunday July 22nd after which she will become the curate of two parishes in Crewe.

We are delighted that Hilary Gartside has agreed to take on the role of Editor from Catherine. She already plays an important part in the life of our church. A member of the Parochial Church Council, Hilary is a welcomer for Zone2 services, licensed to administer the chalice at Holy Communion and involved with the Go4th worship at the Church School on the fourth Sunday of the month. She also helps with the Coffee Cabin at St Luke’s and the Ladies Continental Breakfast. We pray for her as she takes over from Catherine and trust that she will enjoy being able to spread the good news of the work of our church to the wider community.
