Confirmation is the time when people make a commitment to the Christian faith, confirming their wish to follow Christ and to live a Christian life. It is also about praying that God will confirm or strengthen that commitment.

Annually, or more often if there is demand, there are two groups that meet weekly over a period of six weeks for discussion and learning. One group is for young people of secondary school age; the other is for adults. Both groups are suitable for those enquiring about the Christian faith. There is no requirement to proceed to confirmation but those who feel ready to make that commitment are then confirmed by the Bishop in a special service in St Mary's.
